Why it's quite simple - you just put your lips together and blow!

HA! - seriously - in the menu above go to "Community" - then "Member Groups"

I should have started another topic, but that sounds too difficult. I am going to be dry hopping for the first time, and want to know what everyone recommends. Should I just dump the pellets straight into the secondary, or should I use a hop bag to help control the mess?

Don't know what everyone else's experience has been, but whenever I've dry-hopped, the pellets just go right into the carboy. All the material eventually settles to the bottom - I haven't noticed a problem with hop residue making its way into the final product. I was given this advice a few years ago by the owner of The Purple Foot in West Allis. I've heard that if you use a hop bag you could run into issues because the hops swell and it can be difficult to then remove the bag.

Sorry I missed the last meeting - been extremely busy at work, plus I've been having computer issues at home. I don't think I'll be able to make this week's either, but hope to catch up again in April. At least I had time to make a Red Ale last Saturday - currently fermenting nicely.

Sorry I missed these. I too haven't had any issues just throwing them in the carboy like Gambrinus. Just settles. Sometimes I just throw it all in the primary (trub from the boil). Settles out well as long as you don't have to move your carboy too much

Hey All --- I'm much too busy at work prior to the holiday to have the meeting tomorrow night (July 1) - so depending on your feedback we can

A: Cancel the July Meeting
B: Have it on July 8

I'm down for either - I have no new beer ready :(

If we do it next week I might actually be able to make it, with a new brew! Let me know what the final decision is.

I just dryhop in my primary after fermentation. Just put the hops n a bag and drop them in. I stopped doing secondary unless I'm making a huge beer that needs time to age.

I eat apples because ice cream doesn't have any bones in it.

Hey all - Jaemie wanted me to pass along that the 17th doesn't look possible for the brewery tour. He's checking into future dates and will let us know.

I am not going to be in town for the next meeting on Aug 5. If you all want to get together still - please do! Though I cannot open up my office for it.

Otherwise.... if there's any real interest - we can postpone it until the next week on the 12th.

I will not be around the 5th and may not be around the 12th. If I am I will come to the meeting.

Also guys, I am buying some Perlick 525 SS for my shop if you’re interested in buying some let me know. I will sell them for 22.99 to 23.99 have not decided how generous I want to yet.

I will get some shanks also, not sure on that price yet.

Let me know.
